How do you stop curly hair from getting puffy when it dries?

I have tried just about everything I am desperate at this point. I am italian / german and have medium length curly hair. it will be fine when its wet but then it will dry and get puffy...i only straighten my bangs. i was wondering if there was any products or tutorials that could totally save me? thank you im sorry to bother everyone! xoxo
