How to make the back of my hair grow faster?

I seriously don't know why the back of my hair just shrinks and looks so much shorter than the front of my hair! I'm all natural now and i have decided to stop straightening my 3c/4a hair. But what is a great solution to help my hair look just as full in the back as it does in the front? should i braid and twist the back all the time??? Please Help!
