What product can make my VERY coarse hair VERY silky?

I am black so I have course "kinky" type of hair, I dont want to perm my hair but what products can I use to make my hair silky , so instead of holding it up ALL the time or braiding it I can just let it fall down . Im in london. I used to straighten my hair ALL the time so now im left with damaged hair which is healing , thanxx
