What can i do with my hair...?

i have really thin dark brown long hair. i've never dyed it. i have a small callic in the front that makes it a pain to have bangs but it is possible. i really wanna do something different. i LOVE the emo/punk styles with the bright colors etc. id like to cut my hair into an emo bob to make it less trouble. but with my thin hair, is it ok if i straighten my hair every day as long as i take good care of it? i dont want to kill my hair and make it even worse than it already is. is there anything i can do with it that is within the emo hair styles that wont kill my hair and would look really good? please post pictures or blogs on ways to do things etc or just explain it yourself! thanks!!♥
